What is IsMyGirl?

IsMyGirl was founded by Evan Seinfield, the lead vocalist, bassist, and founding member of the band Biohazard and also a former pornographic actor. The platform was created by adult content creators for adult content creators. IsMyGirl allows creators to convert their fans into paid subscribers and monetise their following. Creators are given the autonomy to control what type of content they put out and to choose their price points. Back in April 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, IsMyGirl actually gave 100% commission to verified content creators until June. This was both a gesture of appreciation for their existing members but also great marketing. However, despite the marketing efforts, IsMyGirl does not get the same volumes of traffic as some of the newer platforms despite being around since the early days of OnlyFans.

What kind of adult content is permitted on IsMyGirl?

If you’re looking for a judgment-free platform that supports adult content, IsMyGirl could be the right place for you. The platform prides itself in allowing creators to be their own bosses by controlling the type of content they share. You can post sexually explicit and kink-friendly content, but you can also make content that is safe for work. IsMyGirl welcomes all. Like all other exclusive content media and content monetisation sites, there are regulations you must comply with such as not inciting violence and not promoting non-consensual sex.

Subscriptions

IsMyGirl is mainly a subscription-based adult content site. Content creators have the freedom to set their subscription fees to any amount they wish, whereas in many other platforms they don’t get such freedom. How can creators make money on IsMyGirl 

Premium videos

Aside from your regular subscriptions, adult content creators can make money by selling premium videos. Make sure to set an enticing, exciting description so you can persuade fans to pay for this premium content. You can set this at any price, many creators charge more than $200 for each video! Premium content can also include custom videos that are personalised to the request of a fan. These tend to be more expensive and usually charged for by the minute.

Communication tools

Content creators can also make money by connecting with fans through paid messaging and livestreaming. Although all subscribers get access to direct messaging, you can still make an extra income this way. Not only is it an easy way to get tips as you engage with fans on a personal level, but you can also charge extra. Paid private messaging is similar to premium videos, except the content is sent via a private message. You can set a price to unlock this content, such as a sexually explicit video and send that to your followers privately. 

Content creators also make use of IsMyGirl’s livestreaming features to maximise their income. You can set up Pay-Per-Minute livestreaming where you choose your price in tokens (1 token = 1 USD). This is a fast way to make money. The more minutes and viewers you have, the more money you make. You can also have a 1-1 live video chat called the FanCam that fans can request. They can also pay per minute and send tips.

Premium Snapchat

IsMyGirl also has a Snapchat feature that creators can activate so that their followers subscribe to their premium snapchat to see even more exclusive content, behind the scenes and other types of content.  All you need to do is create a separate private Snapchat account, add it to your profile under the “Premium Snapchat” icon, and set your subscription rate. This is a great way to stay connected with fans, even when you don’t have time to post on other platforms such as IsMyGirl.

Tips

As a creator, you can also make money by getting tipped by fans. You won’t be able to see this with a creator profile, but there is a tip icon on every video, profile, and photo. Creators have been tipped big money on the platform, so make sure to share quality content and engage with fans through livestream and DMs. IsMyGirl places no limit to how much a fan can tip a model. However, unlike other platforms, you won’t be able to send a direct link to your fan, asking fora tip.

Referrals

IsMyGirls’ referral program is a great way to make some passive income on the platform. Creators earn a lifetime commission of 5% of whatever the referred creator makes. This commission is paid by IsMyGirl, not the referred creator. You can find your referral link on the right sidebar, under the referrals tab. Send the link to anyone you believe would be interested in joining the platform and make money passively.

How to promote my IsMyGirl page? 

Although there are a range of discovery tools and features for fans (such as search and directory) the lack of traffic to platform means that if you really want to be successful, the best way to promote your page is via your own social media and existing audience. The platform encourages creators to share their profile links to Instagram and Twitter. Make it easy for fans to access your profile by sharing safe for work stories on Instagram with the “swipe up” feature. If you don’t have a large social media audience, it may be harder to build a following on IsMyGirl. IsMyGirl payouts and withdrawals 

The revenue share on IsMyGirl is not fixed like on other platforms and depends on the content you are sharing. For subscriptions, premium videos, and tipping, creators get 80% of the revenue which is the industry standard. However, for livestreaming, one of the best ways to maximise your income on the platform, creators only get 70% of the revenue.

Creators are paid twice each month, by the 2nd and the 17th of the month. This does not give you the freedom to cashout whenever necessary as with some other platforms such as Fansly. Creators can cashout by ACH/Bank Transfer, check or local cash pickup. The platform can also arrange to pay you via bank wire if you make $1,000 a month or more. IsMyGirl does not payout via PayPal, Cash App, Venmo or Western Union, which is a pity. The minimum payout amount is $50.

How easy is IsMyGirl to use for creators? 

IsMyGirl appears to be somewhat out-dated from a UX perspective. The website is not the most aesthetically pleasing out there and the UI can be a little confusing, for example signing up as a creator you can easily sign up as a fan by mistake. However, once you take a few moments to get comfortable with the platform, it’s not too hard to apply logic and work your way around to perform the tasks you need to. The verification process was straight forward, you need to upload your ID and an unfiltered selfie holding that same ID. However, you must also add a link to a public social media platform too. We’re not sure why this is but IsMyGirl is potentially vetting the creators that apply to the site.

Is IsMyGirl a good platform for fans?

As one of the first exclusive social media platforms on the scene, IsMyGirl was once competing with OnlyFans. Sadly, IsMyGirl lost it’s way and we all know what happened to the other one!

Worldwide search demand for the brand on Google plateaued in 2020 and has even declined in more recent months . Users spend less than 2 minutes on the platform, while with OnlyFans and MYM, they spend at least over 4 minutes. This suggests that both creators and users are not engaging with the site as much as similar platforms.

However, the business has recently come under new management and the new team promise to rebuild, revamp and optimise the site back to its former glory! Could this be one to watch in 2022?!

Does IsMyGirl offer good customer support?

Once you are verified creator, you can contact customer support through a webchat on the right-hand corner of the screen. However, webchat is only available from 10 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday PST, which is inconvenient for creators in other time zones or in need of assistance on the weekends. Prevention against fraud and piracy on IsMyGirl 

IsMyGirl complies with the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) and will assist in the take down copyrighted content from external websites if you report this. The platform gives you some control over who gets to view your content with their geo-targeting feature. This blocks certain countries, cities, or states from accessing your profile. However, unlike most platforms you have to email support to activate geo-targeting.

Final Thoughts

IsMyGirl is a decent platform with good features but it lacks the engagement and traffic we’ve seen on other platforms. If you have pre-existing following, moving from a platform like OnlyFans that does not value adult content creators to IsMyGirl is a solid bet because once you get comfortable with the platform, you have the chance to make good money. The platform has strong features such as Premium Snapchat and Premium Video. IsMyGirl will also never turn its back on adult content creators as a core value of the company, founded by a pornographic actor, is to support creators in the industry and encourages sex positivity.
